On the intersection of Bank Street and Broadway is the Picturing High Streets touring exhibition, which has travelled around the country since March, with a few more stops after Bradford.
I happen to work in the building above this section of the exhibition, and so have been able to document the installations from some unique angles.
The style of the photos within the exhibition range from full colour, humourous and gaudy in the vein of Martin Parr etc, to dense and serious black and white images, that could have been shot anytime in the last hundred years.
The exhibition is split into three separate themes; High Street Hangouts, High Street Eats and High Street Heroes.
High Street Hang outs
Having watched the installation of the exhibition, I’m really impressed with how sturdily constructed each piece is, and also how they’ve been up around a month now, with no graffiti!

Looks pretty good. What material are those panels made off?
That's cool you were able to see it from above as it was getting set up and then down in the mix. Looks like some great photos on exhibit.
