I recently added this image to the Exposed series, with more in the pipeline!
What drew me to add this image to the series was the varying styles of brickwork both in the pathworked wall and house behind, as well as the newer fencing styles flanking on either side.
As with some ofthe other images in the series, I drive past this location on my way to work almost every day. I’ve been waiting for the right conditions to photograph it for a while. I may reshoot as I’d prefer the brickwork to be dry, the breezeblock section being much lighter when dry in particular. I’d also like to see this image with a fully overcast sky.
Check out the rest of the images in the Exposed gallery below! Paid Subscribers can also read my in depth thoughts on the development process for each image at the bottom of the post!
Exposed
Past echoing into the present, buildings and structures falling into disrepair, or showing signs of adaptation. The impermanence of supposedly permanent edifices. How will these structures look in another ten or twenty years? Will they still exist? Resist the elements and remain as they are today? Change into something else entirely?
I also submitted the project into
’s Darkrooms, the photostack edition call out. Check it out below if you’d like to submit a series yourself!
...and a great project it is. Thanks for participating, Paul. Good to have you in Darkrooms Magazine!
